Anne Arundel Economic Development Corporation (AAEDC) is hosting A Taste of Arundel Grown in Homestead Gardens next month.
The event includes dinner, drinks, live music from acoustic guitarist Aaron Hawkins, and a silent auction. Wharf 38 Head Chef Brandon Moser is creating a special menu featuring locally grown ingredients. Each ticket includes two glasses of local wine or craft beer, and attendees can make their own bouquets at a flower bar provided by Zangs Farm. State and local officials will be joined by AAEDC representatives in giving a short talk about why buying local is important.
AAEDC is introducing the silent auction this year to expand the fundraising component of the event. Organizers often work with Stationery printers to create Signs for silent auction items. Proceeds will support the Agricultural Business Improvement Grant program and the local Future Farmers of America (FFA) chapter. The Southern High School FFA chapter will receive a check during the event.
Tickets are available online now. General admission is $100 per person and VIP tickets are $125, with a limited number of $110 early bird tickets still available at the time of writing. The event is open to everyone in the area, including residents of Jessup and other towns in Anne Arundel County.
A Taste of Arundel Grown will be on Wednesday, August 5 from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm at Homestead Gardens in Davidsonville.
