Although holiday music will come to an end by January 1, there will still be tunes in the ears of those in the Glen Burnie area, as there are quite a few music events scheduled for the month of January.
Maryland Concert Series is hosting the 229th Army Concert Band here in Glen Burnie at the end of January. This the Maryland National Guard’s largest ensemble of citizen soldier musicians, and the group performs at military ceremonies, public parades, concerts, and civic events.
The 229th Army Concert Band will perform from 7:30 pm until 9:30 pm on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 10 1st Avenue. The event will be open to the public and free.
The Baltimore Soundstage has a busy new year schedule. A hip-hop/rap group, WCE Winter Jam 21, will take to the stage on January 2, at 7:00 pm. Another rap and hip-hop ensemble, Return of the Heavyweight Rhyne Writer, performs Saturday, January 9 beginning at 9:00 pm.
Rock band, Pressing Strings has been rescheduled for Friday, January 15. The ensemble will start its performance at 9:00 pm. Joint Operation, another rock group, will end the month, performing Saturday, January 23 at 9:00 pm.
