Local venue prepares to hit the dancefloor

Next week there will be dancing in the street as the Latshaw Pops Orchestra comes to Glen Burnie, offering lunch and an afternoon of high energy dance music of the disco, Motown, and doo-wop eras.

Composed of 30 professional singers, Katie Kelly Dancers, and musicians, the Latshaw Pops Orchestra has been performing for audiences throughout the Northeast and Midwest and Canada since 2004. This go-round the orchestra will be presenting its version of ‘Dancing in the Street’ with some of the most well-known music from the 50s, 60s and 70s.

Some beloved tunes of such singing greats as the Four Seasons, Abba, the Bee Gees, Frankie Valli, and the Temptations will be on the program. Period choreography, costumes, and music will get toes tapping to the old familiar beats. To commemorate the event, local printing services may have been asked to create colorful fliers reminiscent of the earlier musical eras.

Tickets for the event are $54.95 and include lunch, gratuity, tax, and admission to the performance. Reservations are required, and those interested should call the facility’s sales office for tickets. Please note that tickets will not be sold at the door.

The event will be held at Michael’s Eighth Avenue in Glen Burnie on Tuesday, June 10. The luncheon will be served starting at 11:30 am and the two-hour show will start at 1:00 pm.
