Local runners hit Mid-Maryland Trail

Many Glen Burnie runners are getting in shape to run the Mid-Maryland Trail Festival 50k and 60k Relay coming in mid-February.

Registration is $70 and closes Friday, February 10 at noon. Swag will include black T-Shirts featuring the orange, yellow, and red event Logo Design on the front with white BullsEye Run logo on the back.

This will be a 5.179-mile wooded loop course at Rockburn Branch Park. Each loop will begin and end at the pavilion behind Rockburn Elementary School.

The 50k may be run individually for five loops, and the 60k can be a team of two, three, or six people. Since the relay will be a 60k run equaling six loops, two people will run three loops each, three people will run two loops each, and teams of six will run a single loop per member. Running exchange opportunities will be made after each loop.

Early packet pickup will be available at Feet First, 5305 Village Center Drive, Ste 110, Columbia, from 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm on the Friday before the event. Packets will also be available on race day beginning at 7:00 am. However, the park opens at 7:00 am, so getting them the day before is recommended.

Please note that in case of inclement weather, the park can cancel the run. Mid-Maryland Trail Festival 50k and 60k Relay has been scheduled for Saturday, February 18 beginning at 8:00 am. Branch Park is located at 6154 Montgomery Road, Elkridge.
