Local group to serve up Maryland traditional fundraiser

For Glen Burnie residents who have long-enjoyed Maryland’s traditional bull and oyster roasts, Emerge, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the well-being of Maryland’s citizens with disabilities, will soon be hosting its 5th Annual Bull and Oyster Roast.

Everyone is invited to eat as much as they desire, and Baltimore’s DjKeyes will be the emcee for the evening.

The main feature will be meat, with beef, oysters, ham, clams, and pork available. There will also be side dishes such as potatoes, baked beans, and green beans, with dessert to follow.

The event committee has been working on accumulating bigger and better items for this year’s silent auction. Among the new offerings will be a certificate for a fitness package at New Attitudes. This may be a good event at which to bring digital Business Cards.

This fundraiser will help Emerge to establish and maintain programs that provide individualized services and support for environments for people with disabilities. This organization offers customized care and oversees customers who are living in small groups or independently, many of whom are working for Glen Burnie employers. Others in the program are given day care. Presently, the organisation works with over 450 individuals.

The fundraiser will be held Saturday, March 14, from 7:30 pm till 11:00 pm, Michael’s 8th Avenue, 7220 Grayburn Drive, Glen Burnie.
