Local couples run for the roses challenge

Some Glen Burnie couples are taking Baltimore’s Cupid’s 12 Roses of Valentine’s Day Run Challenge in February.

The event will be a virtual race, and entrants can opt for either the 12 mile run or the full 13.1 half marathon. They can run or walk to cover the distance.

Swag includes two Cupid’s 12 Roses finisher medals, 12 little one-mile rose pins, and two Tyvek race bibs. Those that run 13.1 miles get a bonus pin for the Half-Marathon. Runners can purchase red or white finisher shirts for $15 each. The shirts feature a cupid and hearts graphic design.

Finisher swag will be shipped starting tomorrow, February 1, when registration begins. Standard fees are $50 per couple. The cap for this race is 2,500 participants.

Participants may choose their own time, date, and location to finish the run/walk. They can also run/walk the distances over more than one outing. Results may be posted on the Virtual Run Challenge web page.

Glen Burnie couples may opt to join either the official Virtual Run Challenge Facebook Group in order to motivate, train or connect with other runners, or join the Strava Club to share running experiences with other fitness enthusiasts and runners.

Baltimore Cupid’s 12 Roses Couples Run will take place throughout the month of February, starting tomorrow when registration opens.
