Lithuanian Hall plans three fall events

Those here in Glen Burnie who enjoy folk dancing and Eastern European food will have at least two opportunities do just that at Lithuanian Hall.

The 49th Annual Baltimore Lithuanian Festival will be on Saturday, September 12th and Sunday, September 13th from 11:00am until 6:00pm. The event will feature folk dancing and there will be traditional crafts and arts for purchase. Lithuanian food and beverages will be available. A DJ will emcee a dance following the festival at 6:00pm in the downstairs level of the Hall.

A month later, the fifth annual Windmills International Dance Festival will take place at the Hall on Saturday, October 10th from 1:00pm until 5:30pm. A Mituva Lithuanian Folk Dance Ensemble presentation, the event will showcase traditional dances from the Baltics and Central, Eastern, and Northern Europe. Performers will be from the Washington DC and Maryland area.

After the festival, in the Grand Ball Room starting at 6:00pm and going until 9:00pm, some of the dance groups from the festival will hold a free International Folk Dance Workshop. Guests will be invited to learn some of the groups’ favorite traditional dances.

Guests that attend festivals such as these often take pictures of the colorful costumes and their friends dancing. These photos are then taken to local Print shops to have duplicates made to send to their friends.

Lithuanian Hall is located at 851-853 Hollins Street, Baltimore.
