July 4th celebrations await in Glen Burnie area

Many Glen Burnie residents will be heading for Baltimore to celebrate Independence Day this year.

Downtown Baltimore will have a 4th of July Street Fair from 8:00 am until 3:00 pm. The event will offer a pancake breakfast, four-mile fun run, children’s parade, and the main parade at 10:00 pm. Food vendors, art and craft sellers, non-profits and local businesses will be there.

The American Visionary Art Museum will hold its Visionary Pets on Parade starting at 9:00 am on the 4th. Trophies will go to most patriotic, best costume, pet and owner look-a-like and best pet trick. After the parade pets will be showcased in the Pet Talent Show.

Owners of pets that win contests such as this like to take pictures of their pets and awards to local Stationery printers to be made into family Calendars.

From 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm, the Baltimore Museum of Industry will host a family-friendly evening of games, beverage, snacks, and 15-minute fireworks starting at 9:30 pm over the Inner Harbor.

The Inner Harbor fireworks can also be seen at the Ports America Chesapeake 4th of July Celebration. This event will take place from 7:00 pm until the fireworks show. The U.S. Navy Jazz Band Commodores will perform at the Inner Harbor Amphitheater at Light and Pratt streets at 7:00 pm.
