Later this week, locals can support the arts and aspiring Glen Burnie High School (GBHS) directors, actors, writers, and soloists at the same time.
The school’s Glen Burnie Theatre Company will be presenting its ‘Evening of Theater’. The event will showcases the talents of GBHS students in direction, monolog, and singing.
This new addition to the theater’s yearly schedule will features five one-act plays directed by school students. Between each play, aspiring teen vocalists will be performing solos and drama students will be presenting monologs. Local providers of printing services will no doubt be turning out programs for high school memorabilia. To help defray production costs, refreshments will be sold during intermission.
The Glen Theatre Company is a local high-school-affiliated organization with a mission to provide students with artistic and personal opportunities for expression in musical and theatrical arts. Budding singers and actors can also get experience in the theater’s musicals, which are presented yearly. Furthermore, the program provides opportunities for fast-paced creative expression in its Improvisation Theater.
This theatrical event is scheduled for Friday, May 16, at 7:00 pm at Glen Burnie High School Auditorium, 7550 Baltimore Annapolis Blvd, Glen Burnie. Tickets will be $5 at the door.
