Traditionally, everyone becomes Irish for St. Patrick’s Day festivities, and Glen Burnie will be no different as it revs up for area St. Patrick celebrations.
On March 7, from 6:00 pm until 10:00 pm, Saint Kevin Division 1 Ancient Order of Hibernians, 2600 Willoughby Beach Road in Edgewood will hold its Hartford County St. Patrick’s Day Celebration. Tickets will be $45. They include dinner, drinks, and entertainment such as Irish dancers, and The ShamRogues.This event will help charities such as Wreaths Across America, Paws for Stripes and the Hartford County Education Foundation.
On Sunday, March 15th, The Shamrock 5K Race will take place right before the Baltimore St. Patrick Parade. The race will begin at 1:00 pm at Franklin and Charles Streets and the course will be the parade route.
The 65th Annual Baltimore St. Patrick Parade will begin at the Washington Monument at 2:00 pm. It will continue on Charles Street going south and proceed on Pratt Street east to Market Place. Units in the parade will celebrate all things Irish through song, dance and cultural displays on floats. Grand Marshal for this year’s parade will be Michael McConnell and Honorary Grand Marshal will be Vincent Timothy Sisk.
