Glen Burnie to host yearly environmentally friendly fair

The Green Health Committee is all set to hold its annual Earth Day Fair. The event will be a day centered on recycling, renewing, and eco-living.

Attendees are encouraged to bring old eyeglasses and cell phones for recycling. They may also bring personal paper documents to get them shredded, and expired medications to dispose of them properly.

Interactive demonstrations and educational displays will be informing guests about themes like renewable energy, recycling, and eco-friendly living. Free drawstring Backpacks will be passed out to the first 100 visitors to arrive.

Those interested may still have time to at a write-up of the event to their organizations before this month’s newsletter printing. Others may want to get some flyer printing done and distribute leaflets around their neighborhoods or workplaces. In keeping with the theme of the day, Flyers should be printed on recycled paper and contain a comment about asking recipients to please recycle them.

The event will start at 11:00 am today and go until 2:00 pm, taking place on the front lawn of the University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center, 301 Hospital Drive, Glen Burnie. Since this event will be spread out under a huge tent and there will be plenty of shelter, it will be held rain or shine. Admission and parking will both be free.
