Glen Burnie still has time to go to Christmas Village

For an opportunity to experience Old-world European Christmas markets, Christmas Village is still in full array.

The event is in its sixth year and is reminiscent of the German markets like Nuremberg’s famous Chriskindl Market. 50 vendors are chosen each year to bring traditional European drinks, sweets and food to the Inner Harbor. Treats to look for will include Belgian fries, goodies from a German Deli, roasted nuts, crepes, schnitzel, and German gingerbread.

Some vendors will be offering international holiday items such as jewelry, toys, arts and crafts, and ornaments. Passers-by may like to get Business Cards from those vendors they especially like to contact them after the holidays for custom work. Christmas music will be performed live.

Weekends have special themes; for example Saturday and Sunday, December 15 and 16 will be First Responder Weekend. Active servicepeople will get free admission. The inside and outside stages will have live music performances, and Santa will be there posing for pictures with Glen Burnie children.

Saturday, December 22 and Sunday, December 23 will be Last Minute Shopping Weekend. This will be the last time to get those shopping lists completed and capture pictures with Santa. The outdoor stage will feature Ian Carroll and Mark Vidor and the indoor stage will have Fantasy Players and Melanin Reigns.

Christmas Village is running from now until December 24 between Light and Pratt Streets in Baltimore.
