Glen Burnie runs for Casey Cares
Those in Glen Burnie who are looking for a good run for a good cause will be heading to the 16th Annual Casey Cares 5k run and 1-mile walk coming in early August.
Registration for the in-person and virtual 5k, and the 1-mile walk, will be $40 for adults. Registration will be $10 for children eight years old and younger who will be running on site. Adult registrants will receive finisher medals and race bibs.
Other swag will be connected to the fundraising aspect of the event. Fundraising incentives will include a water bottle sticker at the $25 level, $50 for a reusable tote bag, $100 for a stuffed teddy bear, $250 for a wireless charger, $500 for a fleece blanket, and $1,000 for a yeti lowball. Proceeds will go to the Casey Cares Foundation, which aids families with critically ill children.
Race packets will be available for collection on Friday, August 1 from noon to 6:00 pm at the Casey Cares Foundation, 7100 Columbia Gateway Drive, Suite 155 in Columbia, and on race day starting at 7:00 am.
Awards will go to the most spirited, largest, and top fundraising teams. Team participation is encouraged and teams that participate in multiple running events occasionally get colorful T-shirts printed at local print shops.
