For those here in Glen Burnie looking for something little out of the ordinary, the World Oddities Expo will be coming to the area toward the end of October.
This traveling festival prides itself in offering an inclusive small business, artisan mega-convention featuring vendors, artists, educators and guest speakers.
The Lost Curio Marketplace will have items from insects and taxidermy to home decor, antiques, clothing, and jewelry. Many exhibits will be interactive where guests may examine and touch the oddities, and vendors will share the unique stories behind their collections and creations.
The Oddity Ink Parlor will have talented tattoo artists ready to apply their trade onnsite. Guests in the WOE Labs area workshops may learn some new techniques with hands-on experiences in areas such as bone articulation and taxidermy headed by professionals. Guest speakers in the WOE Theater will discuss topics in their fields of expertise.
Live entertainment will include live side show performances including fire eating and sword swallowing, along with live painting and music performances. Intriguing and unusual displays will be available for photo opportunities. Many vendors and guests bring Business Cards to events like this to share with likeminded peers.
Online general admission tickets run $68.23 each, including a $17.23 processing fee.
Baltimore's 5th annual World Oddities Expo will be Saturday, October 26 from noon to 8:00 pm at the Baltimore Convention Center, 1 West Pratt Street, Baltimore.
