Light City, a festival of music, light, and innovation, will be coming to the area very shortly. The event will be spread over most of the month of April.
The first couple of weeks the festival will focus on light displays in 14 neighborhoods. Baltimore-based artists have teamed up with their communities to create Neighborhood Lights. These displays will be either performance art or illuminated visuals. Inner Harbor’s BGE Light Walk Art Walk will be displaying 21 world-class light installations.
The second leg of the event will be the weeklong festival. DJ sets and regional, national, and local talent will be holding free live concerts on the two stages - the Club Light City Stage and the Light Up the Night Concert Stage. Over 85 acts, performers and bands are slated to perform.
The final week will be Labs@Light City. This will be a series of labs in which speakers – both those established thinkers and new voices – will be discussing practices and innovations that build equitable and stronger cities. Labs will cover topics such as art, education, health, social and youth. Guests will be bringing their Business Cards for networking.
Light City will be from April 6 through 21 in Baltimore. Neighborhood Lights will be from April 6 to 8. The Festival will be in the Inner Harbor April 14 through 21, and Labs@Light City will be from April 18 through 21 at IMET Columbis Center, 701 E Pratt St., Baltimore.Get a Free Quote for Business Cards
