Those who enjoy social dancing, especially West Coast Swing, will be marking their Calendars and heading to Baltimore for the Mid Atlantic Dance Jam coming in late February.
This event is the largest convention of its kind and will offer four days and nights of fun with the social dance community. Over 1,000 dancers are expected to participate from all over the world.
MADjam will have a pro staff that will head over 50 dance workshops, and hold exclusive events for organizers, DJs, rising stars, and experienced dancers.
Prizes and cash will be awarded in fun competitions that will be geared to all skill levels. Winners in competitive events usually like to have pictures taken to use later for poster printing.
A newcomer package will include orientation, eight hours of workshops, a seminar about how to get the most out of social dancing, special seating in the ballroom, and small group meet and greets.
Guests can earn points for the National Association of Swing Dance, the World Swing Dance council, and the Rising Star Tours.
Gift Certificates and cash prizes will be awarded in the Classic, Showcase, RisingStar and ProAM Spotlight choreography contests, and in the Strictly Swing, Champion, AllStar, Advanced, Intermediate, Novice, Masters and Sophisticated categories.
All night social dancing will be from Thursday evening until daybreak on Sunday.
MADjam 2019 will be at the Baltimore Waterfront Marriott from February 28 through March 3, and registration is open to the public.
