Visits to museums are always a popular Christmas tradition, especially with so many located around the Glen Burnie area. Two of them will be celebrating the season in their own unique ways.
The Homewood Museum will be presenting Homewood by Candlelight. This will be an open house that will have rooms teeming with boxwood and garlands. Candlelight will accentuate the early 19th-Century décor. Seasonal refreshments will be available in the wine cellar. The gift shop has been keeping Stationery printers busy replicating Holiday Cards reminiscent of the period.
For the younger crowd, the B&O Railroad Museum will be holding its annual Magical Holiday Express Breakfast and Train Ride. This will be a pancake breakfast buffet with the jolly old elf himself. Santa will be available after the breakfast for photos. Kids can amuse themselves while waiting their turn with Santa by riding on the indoor carousel and viewing the model train layouts. At the end of the morning, everyone will welcome the ‘All Aboard!’ shout that will start the boarding for Santa’s train ride.
Homewood By Candlelight will be December 3 from 5:30 pm until 7:30 pm at The Homewood Museum at 3400 North Charles Street in Baltimore.
The B&O’s Magical Holiday Express Breakfast and Train Ride will be December 1 and 8 at 8:30 am, and December 2 and 9 at 9:30 am at the B&O Railroad Museum, 901 W Pratt St., Baltimore.
