Glen Burnie will get its annual chance to support the Greater Ferndale Community Civic Association's initiatives and programs by attending Ferndale Day coming in mid-May.
Local schools, bands, flag units, cheerleading squads, municipal units, dignitaries and others interested in participating in the parade need to register as soon as possible.
The annual Fern Day parade will step off at 11:00 am followed by the festival that will run from noon to 5:00 pm.
Activities at the festival will include an obstacle course, moon bounce, beer garden and rock painting. Festival attendees may meander through the local crafters and vendors area to view and purchase items from over 100 booths. Entertainment will be on the venue one stage.
Local vendors and crafters that sign up for festivals like this often get some banner printing done beforehand to have something colorful to hang up in or over their booths.
The event will also have The Ferndale Day Pageant, and organizers are presently looking for contestants, judges and volunteers, and the annual car show which is looking for vintage and antique vehicles.
Local non-profits, businesses and associations will want to support the festival by signing up to reserve booth space as soon as possible to be sure to get good locations.
This year's Ferndale Day will be May 18th at 10 3rd Avenue S and on Broadview Boulevard if weather permits.
