Glen Burnie area celebrates June

Summer will be coming to the Glen Burnie area soon, and it will be celebrated with food and dance in June.

A free Strawberry Festival will have food, a flea market, music, children's activities, raffles, and vendors. North County Emergency Outreach Network will be collecting donations of non-perishable food, and Hope for All will be collecting gently used or new kitchen, bed, and bath linens.

The Strawberry Festival will take place on Saturday, June 1 from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm at 7606 Quarterfield Road.

That evening, the Baltimore Salsa Dance Company will be marking 16 years with its Sweet 16 Anniversary Celebration.

The event will begin with a 45-minute bachata lesson from 7:30 pm to 8:15 pm followed by a 45-minute salsa lesson beginning at 8:15 pm. Social dancing will begin at 9:00 pm and end around 1:00 am. Light refreshments will be available.

Tickets will be $10 for each lesson and $10 for the social dancing. Both lessons and social combination tickets will be $25.

The Sweet 16 Anniversary Celebration will be at the BSDC Latin, African, and Cultural Dance Institute at 415 Crain Highway South. Pictures taken at events such as this often go to local Print shops to be added to future advertising media.

Finally, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm on Saturday, June 8, the Ann Arundel County Historical Society's Benson-Hammond House in Linthicum Heights will hold its First Annual Summer Fest.
