The Greater Ferndale Community Civic Association will be holding its annual Ferndale Day early in May, and over 500 guests are expected.
The event will kick off with the parade, which will step-off at North County High School, go down Baltimore-Annapolis Blvd and disband at Third Avenue Field. The North County High School band, flag unit, and pom-pom squad will lead the procession. Other units will include sports teams, cheerleaders, and civic groups.
The Little Miss Ferndale contest will be held immediately following the parade. Elementary-aged contestants dressed in their Sunday finest will answer questions posed by a panel of three local judges. The girls are supplied beforehand with types of questions that will be asked, and local patrons and businesses will sponsor a girl and pay for her dress if the need arises.
The venue will have crafts exhibitors, games, and children’s activities and local talent on its one stage. Antique cars will be on display.
A selection of 10 food booths will be dishing up their annual fare. This may include pit-roasted beef sandwiches, hot dogs, ice cream, and pizza. If this year is anything like the prior years, the Ferndale Garden Club will be serving iced tea, water, lemonade and hopefully fresh strawberries desserts.
People looking for a day out in the West Glen Burnie area will want to mark their Calendars for May 7. The fun will begin at 11:00 am and end around 5:00 pm at Third Avenue Park, Glen Burnie.Get a Free Quote for Calendars
