Ferndale Day comes in May

The Greater Ferndale Community Civic Association is once again hosting its annual fundraising event, Ferndale Day, in Ferndale, one of the Glen Burnie neighborhoods, coming in mid-May.

Funds raised will go to programs such as maintaining the community's Senior Center, community's infrastructure and providing free movies in the summer, the Halloween Stroll in the fall and the Easter Egg Hunt in the spring.

Festival guests will be treated to food from local vendors and organizations. The parade will step off at 11:00 am and participating floats, marching units, classic cars, bands and other entries will organize in the Norh County High School Parking lot beginning at 9:30 am.

Artists and crafts people and other vendors will be setting up booths to sell their original creations and other merchandise. Many vendors that sell at events like this often get special Business Cards made beforehand to slip in with purchases.

Local nonprofit organizations will be on hand passing out Flyers and information about their missions, addresses, times of operations and services.

At 12:30 pm the Ferndale Day Pageant will begin. The contest will be open to local Ferndale school students from pre-kindergarten to 12th grade. The festival and the pageant will be located in Third Avenue Park between Hollins Ferry Road and Broadview Boulevard.

Last but certainly not least, the annual Car Show will also be in Third Avenue Park all during the day.

The Ferndale Day festival will be May 18th from noon to 5:00 pm.
