This year, Kennedy Krieger Institute’s annual Festival of Trees will not be the usual three-day in-person event located at the Maryland Fairgrounds, but a virtual online three-day experience families can enjoy from their own homes.
Patrons will still be able to purchase over 800 seven-foot and four-foot designer-decorated trees, wreaths, gingerbread houses, and other holiday items. There will be an online auction site with everything from jewelry to sports memorabilia. Christmas shopping with items offered by local holiday merchants and seasonal vendors will also be available. A virtual entertainment stage will offer plenty of family-friendly acts.
As always, proceeds will go to the more than 25,000 children and their families that are served by Kennedy Krieger yearly. The online experience will feature vignettes about the institute’s students, patients and families.
Those in Glen Burnie purchasing trees can have them delivered if they live within a 30-mile radius from the fairgrounds, or they can pick up their items at the Maryland State Fairgrounds. Pick-up times must be reserved.
Trees and wreaths not purchased will go to local non-profits organizations and to the institute’s clinics and departments.
Each sponsor will get their Logo Design on all Festival of Trees materials, advertising and in the event online program.
Although there will not be an entrance fee this year, the organization would appreciate a $15 donation instead. Kennedy Krieger Institute’s Festival of Trees will be online from Friday, November 27 to Sunday, November 29.
