Anne Arundel County Fairgrounds celebrates the Irish

The Annapolis Irish Festival will be held at the Anne Arundel County Fairgrounds in July. All proceeds will go to The Eddie McGowan Foundation.

Entertainment will be provided by the likes of The High Kings, Sam Grow, We Banjo 3, Seamus Kennedy, Pohemia, Ciaran Quinn, Hold Fast, and the New Caledonians Pipe and Drum corp. The Pub Stage will also feature dancers, pipers and Celtic singers.

The Celtic Vendor Village will be manned by Celtic vendors offering only authentic Celtic crafts, jewelry, clothing and kilts. Some vendors will include Celtic Treasures, American Highlander Kilts, Celtic Attitude Clothing, Iron Wolf Traders, Corset by Casta Diva, and Celtic Vibe. Others will include Irish Lass Glass, Timeless Irish Treasures and Ogham Celtic Art. Attendees often collect Business Cards from their favorite vendors.

Glen Burnie’s budding poets are invited to submit original limericks (any format or style) of 75 words or fewer to the event’s website before July 1. A panel of judges will choose the winner, who will receive two VIP tickets to the festival and the honor of being on stage while Seamus Kennedy reads the prize-winning entry.

General admission will be $20 and V.I.P. tickets will be $100.

The Annapolis Irish Festival will be Saturday, July 18 rain or shine from noon until 10:00 pm at Anne Arundel County Fairgrounds.
