Quincy announces new head of presidential facility

Dr. Kurt Graham, who previously was the director of the Harry Truman Presidential Library and Museum in Missouri, has been named as the first president of the Adams Presidential Center in Quincy.

This center will share the history of Abigail, John, John Quincy, and Catherine Louisa Adams, who were members of the political family in Quincy that represented many of the founding principles and ideas of the United States.

Announcements of such appointments and their overall benefit for a city can be made known throughout a community for those interested in history with flyer printing.

At the Truman Library, Graham oversaw the renovation of the museum exhibits at the library at a cost of $30 million. He also took the legacy of Truman on the road, with talks and programming from Washington, D.C. to Jerusalem and Brussels.

In his new position, he plans to share the presidential Adams family with the world and engage residents of Quincy with the legacies of the two presidents who are still relevant to this day. He said that many of the issues we value can be traced back to the Adams family, including freedom, equality, liberty, women’s rights, and international relations.

He commented that this will be a tremendous opportunity as the facility can be built from the ground up. He added that while a research and educational facility is being built, all kinds of educational and programming activities can be held.
