Mediterranean eatery to come to Quincy

CAVA, a fast-casual Mediterranean restaurant, will be coming to Quincy.

It will be replacing what was once La Palomar on Newport Avenue, which closed after 40 years in business last summer. Sites can turn to banner printing to announce the coming of such new eating establishments. Partick Carter will be the manager of CAVA in Quincy.

CAVA is a chain based out of Washington, D.C. Its specialties include pitas and bowls filled with such items as steak, lamb, chicken, or falafel. CAVA also offers vegetarian options and meals for kids. The inspiration for CAVA is rooted in the experience of the Mediterranean meal, which focuses on genuine expressions of warmth and hospitality.

CAVA first opened in 2006. It now has 383 locations in 25 states and is no stranger to Massachusetts or the South Shore. It first came to the state in 2018 with its first location near Fenway Park, soon adding a location in Dedham and another at The Shops at Derby Street in Hingham. It now has 14 restaurants in the state with plans to open another near the Braintree MBTA station.

Carter does not have an estimate of when the restaurant will open, but it is expected to be later this year. When it opens, its hours will be from 10:45 am to 10:00 pm daily.
