Sweet chocolaty delights come to Newburyport

The Newburyport 13th annual Chocolate Tour is just a few days away.

Attendees can take a walking tour of downtown Newburyport where over 30 cafés and stores will be offering chocolate treats. Some of the participants include Newburyport Olive Oil Co., Gram’s Homemade Ice Cream, Farley’s of Newburyport, and Chococoa Baking Co., among others.

The sponsor of the tour is the Central Congregational Church. It will divide the proceeds from the tour among several programs that include the Coastal Trails Coalition, the Greater Newbury Elder Pet Fund, and the prescription refill programs for the Council on Aging in Newburyport, Amesbury, and Salisbury.

Other supporters of the Chocolate Tour include Not Your Average Joe’s in Newburyport, where 15% of every food order on Tuesdays this month goes towards the tour, the Parry and Parry Corporation, and the Institution for Savings. Keller Williams Reality is a Crème Sponsor and has used poster printing to create an item promoting the love of chocolate.

The price of a ticket is $15. Places where these tickets can be purchased in advance are Fresh Hair Salon at the Route 1 traffic circle, the Brass Lyon, and the Newburyport Olive Oil Co. Tickets can also be bought on event day in Market Square or outside the Unitarian Universalist Church.

The Chocolate Tour will run from 1:00 to 5:00 pm on Saturday May 21.
