The Forever Green 2023 campaign run by the Greater Newburyport Chamber of Commerce and Industry will be starting this weekend.
Forever Green Newburyport is a collaborative program held every year to encourage ecotourism, and awareness between the city of Newburyport and the Chamber, which are both focused on the local environment and community. Its goal is to support a range of regional and local organizations that are already involved in increasing environmental awareness and reducing waste.
Among the programs held are education sessions that discuss how to be more sustainable, displays in retail store windows to highlight businesses that are actively engaged in sustainability, and a calendar of events within the campaign. Local Print shops may be called upon for such efforts to Print Calendars and other materials that promote the campaign and its activities.
This Sunday, March 12, is the official launch of the Forever Green campaign. The Forever Green banner will be displayed by the Department of Public Works from then until Sunday, March 26. The Greater Newburyport Restaurant Week will also take place during these two weeks.
Other events will include meteorologist Harvey Leonard speaking on Thursday, March 23 at 4:00 pm at the Newburyport Senior Center; a Climate Café at Parker River Refuge on Sunday, April 2; Mayor Sean Reardon at City Hall giving a celebration and proclamation on Friday, April 21.
