The annual Art Stroll along the Old Eastern Marsh Trail is coming to Salisbury this week. Residents in nearby Newburyport will want to make sure they attend this family-friendly event.
There will be booths with arts and crafts for sale, along with demonstrations, food, entertainment, live music, and free activities for children. Bart McDonough, Salisbury Assistant Planner, said that musical fun is scheduled the entire day. There will be artists performing modern country/folk/rock music, along with a range of bluegrass, blues, rock, jazz, and pop-folk music.
Among the offerings by vendors will be handmade handbags, ornaments, woodcrafts, and contemporary paintings. This is also an opportunity for many vendors to have Flyers on hand with more information about their products at their booths. Food will range from pizza and baked goods to ‘monster dogs’.
Mural painting is also planned for the kids with help from the Sparhawk School, and demonstrations will be given by Guy Chase’s Martial Arts Studio and two balloon artists.
Grants from the Coastal Trails Coalition, along with the Cultural Councils of Newburyport, Salisbury, and West Newbury, are supporting the event.
The Art Stroll will take place Saturday, May 13, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Free parking will be available at the trailhead off Friedenfels Road, which is across from VASA’s restaurant off Route 1.
