A set of works entirely by female composers will be performed by the Carr-Petrova Duo at the Unitarian Church on Pleasant Street in Newburyport.
This concert will kick off the Wilson Series for 2023. Such series often call for flyer printing services to outline the concerts to be performed.
The Carr-Petrova Duo, which features pianist Anna Petrova and violinist Molly Carr, will guide the audience through the challenges, inspirations, and accomplishments of eight women, ranging from Hildegard Von Bingen in the 13th Century, to the current-day star Beyonce. The audience members will be invited to share in their experiences as women during the program, which will be on Sunday, February 19.
The next program in the Wilson Series will feature organist Wesley Hall who will perform works of three composers—Robert Schumann, Connor Chee, and Dieterich Buxtehude. This will be on Sunday March 5.
Finally, “The Salon of Anna Amalia” will be performed by the Arpeggione Ensemble. This piece celebrates the influence and music of the Prussian princess, with additional works by Mozart, Anna Amalia, and Bach. This will be on Sunday, March 26. All three concerts will begin at 4:00 pm.
The Jean C. Wilson Music Series is named after the founder of the series, and is now under the auspices of the Unitarian Universalist Church. It is held during the winter months.
