Newburyport to hold sustainability expo
The Greater Newburyport Green Expo will take place at the Francis T Bresnahan Elementary School and at the Newburyport Senior Community Center in Newburyport later this month.
This will be a celebration of innovation, sustainability, and green living and is made possible funding from the Resiliency Committee of the city from a grant from the Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness Program of the Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs. It is being presented by the Resiliency Committee of the city and Resilient Newburyport.
At the expo there will be over 40 exhibitors and vendors. Grown Native Massachusetts is set to hold a native plant sale. There will also be an EV Showcase of electric bikes and vehicles, battery powered lawn equipment, and charging equipment, plus a city sustainability tour. Local artist Jenn Houle will demo a live mural creation by Jenn Houle. Interactive family activities will include engaging demonstrations on native gardening, recycling best practices, composting, and energy conservation.
The expo will end with a special screening of “The White House Effect,” a documentary co-sponsored by the Newburyport Documentary Film Festival at the Firehouse Center for the Arts. There will also be a raffle with a grand prize. The winner be selected during the EV Showcase event at 3:30 p.m.
Such unique and notable events can be promoted throughout a city and neighboring communities with poster printing.
This expo will be from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday May 18.
