The weeklong 60th annual Yankee Homecoming will be held in Newburyport later this summer.
President of the board of the organization, Jason Lacroix, is encouraging more participants in the parade that froms part of the event by offering cash prizes for the top three entrants. Lacroix said as there is no fee to enter a float, and having one is a great way to promote one’s business. The theme for this year’s homecoming is ‘A Timeless Tradition’.
Officials will also be organizing the sidewalk sales that will take place Thursday, Friday, and Saturday towards the end of the week. Merchants will have tents or tables in front of their stores in order to sell their merchandise.
Vice president of Yankee Homecoming and chairman of the sidewalk sales event, Dennis Palazzo, will also have a raffle of local items, the proceeds of which will go to pay for the fireworks on Saturday night.
There will also be a Brewfest Fundraiser offering 40 different types of beer, food from The Deck and Domino’s, and live entertainment by Freevolt.
Yankee Homecoming will take place from July 29 through August 6, with the parade scheduled for the last day. Poster printing companies can be used by the organization to advertise and promote all the special activities of Yankee Homecoming with Posters and other materials.
