Newburyport hosts events of the season

Many opportunities to celebrate the holiday season will be coming to Newburyport this month.

Local Print shops may be hired to create Flyers and mailers to inform residents and visitors to the community of such special events.

There will be a Youth Winter Craft Show and Sale, which will feature a juried market of youth crafters, makers, artists, and builders displaying their one-of-a-kind items. This will be held at the Newburyport Senior Center on High Street on Wednesday, December 15 from 5:30 to 8:00 pm.

The Greater Newburyport Children’s Chorus will be performing a Winter Sing Concert. Holiday favorites will be performed by children in grades 2 through 12. This will be at Central Congregational Church on Titcomb Street on Thursday, December 16 at 6:30 pm. Artist vendors will be selling their works throughout the galleries of the Newburyport Art Association at the Pop-Up Winter Holiday Market on Friday and Saturday, December 17 and 18.

Skylark, a Grammy-nominated vocal ensemble led by Matthew Guard, artistic director, will transform the Charles Dickens tale of “A Christmas Carol” into a musical story. Composer Benedict Sheehan has created a new story-score into a full-length concert that weaves traditional and well-known Christmas carols into the fabric of the Dickens story. The concert will take place at the Belleville Church on Monday, December 20 at 7:00 pm with a pre-concert talk at 6:15 pm.
