Newburyport appoints new curriculum superintendent

Newburyport Public Schools will have a new assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction.

LisaMarie Ippolito was appointed to the position after the approval of the School Committee of the recommendation made by Superintendent Sean Gallagher. Such appointments often require business card printing services. Ippolito is currently the principal of Joshua Eaton Elementary School in Reading.

Ippolito expressed her philosophy of doing everything that can be done to make it best for the students. She added that, after her research of the school district and the rigorous interview process, she wanted to work for the Newburyport Public Schools.

Her bachelor’s degree in elementary education and her master’s in special education are from Fitchburg State College. Her first position in her career was at North Middlesex Regional School District in Pepperell as a teacher of English as a second language, third-grade, special needs, and Title I. She has been an adjunct professor at Merrimack College in North Andover and Endicott College in Beverly. She also worked for the Wilmington Public Schools for 14 years in such positions as third grade teacher, elementary technology integration specialist, elementary math coordinator, and curriculum coordinator.

Gallagher said he is excited about Ippolito joining the team as she brings great deal of experience to the position and is excited about being part of the community.

Ippolito will begin her position on Thursday, July 1.
