A new single building business complex, that is 13,160 square feet in size, is currently under construction on Storey Avenue in Newburyport. SBK Associates will run the development, which is owned by Plaza Realty Development Trust.
Manager of SBK Associates, Richard Kaplan, commented that ConvenientMD Medical Urgent Care is the only known tenant in the new building so far. ConvenientMD, which will take up about 5,000 square feet of the building, is a medical clinic that is part of a chain with locations in Maine and New Hampshire.
Other potential occupants of the building are a restaurant, that will be 2,500 square feet in size, and three retail establishments that will be between 1,500 and 2,200 square feet. Surrounding the building will be 79 parking spaces. Kaplan added that the exact layout of the rest of the building is still negotiable, depending on tenant requirements.
President of the Greater Newburyport Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Frank Cousins, expressed his excitement about this new marketplace, as he feels it will be a welcome addition and bring many benefits to the neighborhood of Storey Avenue.
The project has a scheduled completion date of Spring 2019.
