New chief of staff appointed in Newburyport
Christian Cyr has been appointed as Chief of Staff by Mayor Sean Reardon in Newburyport.

Cyr has a great deal of experience to bring to the position. He has worked with community organizations, government agencies, and local elected officials. He has managed and led international democracy programs in the region of Asia-Pacific for the past five years.
Most recently, he was a Program Manager for the International Republican Institute (IRI). IRI is a nonpartisan organization that endeavors to bolster democratic governance around the world and empower citizens. He also worked with the National Democratic Institute, where he ran projects focused on strengthening human rights advocacy groups and the National Endowment of Democracy, managing an international youth fellowship program.
He graduated from Newburyport High School in 2014. While at high school, he served on the board of the Newburyport Education Foundation and volunteered with the Newburyport Youth Council. He attended American University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies, and then attended the London School of Economics and Political Science where he earned a master’s degree in development management.
Cyr expressed his thanks for the opportunity to work on behalf of the residents of Newburyport, which is a city that he loves, and to working with the mayor and the administrative staff to deliver on their vision for the city.
