Newburyport resident Kim Lively opened her third location of Lively Kids, a children’s boutique, in Lynnfield earlier this month.
This in addition to another store in her hometown and another one in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Most likely she has turned to a variety of printing services to let those in the community become aware of her new store.
Lively says the idea of opening a boutique for children’s clothing came to her when she had a one-year-old daughter and was having problems finding “cool stuff” for her. Prior to opening Lively Kids, she had had a soap and bath store and a flower shop in Marblehead, but admits that she has realized her real passion is for children’s clothing and fashion.
She opened her first Lively Kids store in Newburyport in 2006 and, two years later, launched a second store in Portsmouth. This store is twice the size of her original store, and the new store in Lynnfield is four times the size, showing notable growth for the company.
The new shop will have more items for the 9 to 12-year-old sector and more outfits and accessories for girls than her other two shops. It will include Lively Kids’ popular brands, including Chewbeads teething necklaces and Jellycats stuffed animals and onesies, along with hair clips of Lively’s own line.
