Homecoming to be celebrated in Newburyport

Newburyport will be holding its annual Yankee Homecoming next week.

The theme of this year’s event is “Tides of Time: Preserving the Past, Charting the Future.” Yankee Homecoming began 66 years ago and celebrates the rich heritage of Newburyport every year. The events held throughout the celebration will focus on fostering community, honoring all those who have served, and offering free fun for all the family.

More information about such annual celebrations and individual events can be promoted throughout a town with poster printing.

Among the events will be a pasta dinner at the Newburyport Elks. The dinner menu will include ziti with meatballs and meat sauce, salad, garlic bread, coffee, and dessert. There will be a cash bar too. The cost for adults is $15, while children under 12 years of age pay $10. This will be on Monday, July 28 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

The Lions Club will be holding its 5K and 10-mile races starting at Newburyport High School the next day, beginning at 6:00 pm. Monday, July 28 will be the last day to register for this event. People who sign up can go to the Homecoming for a discounted price of $5.

There will also be Yankee Homecoming Sidewalk Sales, which will feature businesses from throughout the town. This will be from Thursday, July 31 through Saturday, August 2.
