The Essex Ensemble will be performing at the Maudslay Arts Center in Newburyport later this month to support efforts to tackle food insecurity in the area.
Ticket prices range from $30 for individual tickets, to $200 for a table of four. All proceeds from the concert will go to benefit the First Parish Newbury Food Pantry, the area’s largest entirely volunteer-run food pantry that feeds more than 300 people every Friday, having initially served just a single person. Concerts such as this one often use poster printing to promote their fundraising efforts.
Andrew Price, Director of the Essex Ensemble, is organizing the concert alongside Food Pantry members and the musicians lending their talent and time to perform. Price also lives in Newburyport and is a volunteer at the Food Pantry himself.
Caroline Monahan, a volunteer from the Food Pantry, said that the Arts Center is in the heart of Maudslay State Park, which has a diverse and lush landscape and provides attendees with a unique experience. Monaham expressed her thanks to the Arts Center for donating their space for this concert.
People who attend are advised to bring blankets, chairs, and a picnic meal for the concert. There will be desserts and non-alcoholic beverages for sale.
The concert will be on Saturday, August 27 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
