Filming of a Christmas movie recently began at the Masonic Temple in Newburyport.
The movie, to be titled ‘Ring for Christmas’ and set to be broadcast on either Lifetime or the Hallmark Channel, will include shots at both interior and exterior locations, one of which will be Market Square. There will also be a Christmas tree in the square that was donated to the production company.
Michael Lurie, one of the producers of the movie, said the filming will continue for several days and will include scenes at a bar and a diner, and what is called a ‘walk-and-talk’ scene, where the actors walk up and down a street in conversation with each other. He added that the goal was to capture the city and the snow that was forecasted for the day after filming began.
Poster printing companies can be hired to create Posters that can be displayed throughout the city so residents might be able to capture glimpses if such filming.
Don FauntLeRoy is the director of the film and Lorraine Bracco, Michael Gross and Dean Geyer are the featured actors. Bracco has appeared in ‘The Sopranos’ and was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role in ‘Goodfellas’, a film by Martin Scorsese that came out in 1990.
Boston Casting provided the extras for the film and these people were chosen by the production company.
