Malden non-profit to hold fundraising event
The Chinese Culture Connection (CCC), a non-profit organization founded in 1985 with headquarters in Malden, will be holding its Fundraising and Awards Gala this month.
This will be an enjoyable evening of informative presentations, entertainment, silent and live auctions, and tasty food and drink in an atmosphere where East meets West. Local print shops can contribute to such organizations by creating flyers to promote special events and their fundraising efforts throughout the community.
There will also be the recognition of special groups and individuals who have contributed their talents and time to benefit society. Jean Appolon of Jean Appolon Expressions (JAE) will be receiving the Diversity and Inclusion Award for his Haitian Folkloric dance that is designed to create hope and healing. A teacher in Malden, Kathleen Sullivan, will receive the Edward F. O’Connell Inspirational Service Award for her support of the Youth Leadership and Mentoring Program of the CCC. Chien-Chi Huang, Founder and Executive Director of Asian Women for Health, will receive the Excellence in Community Service Award for her support of the health and wellness of Asian women through advocacy and education.
Ticket prices are $50 for students and children under 16, $100 for non-members, $88 for members, and $800 for a party of 10. All proceeds from the event will support the CCC and its outreach efforts and offerings for the coming year. The Gala will take place in Medford on Saturday, June 11 beginning at 5:30 p.m.
