What's Happening in Malden, MA…

Battery company moves headquarters to Malden

Alsym Energy, a maker of batteries based in Massachusetts, will be moving its operations to Exchange 200 in Malden.

This space spans 60,000 square feet and will become the official headquarters of the company. Operations will continue at its facility in Woburn. Exchange 200 is the largest laboratory development in Malden and this move is one of the largest new cleantech lab leases signed in the Boston area this year.

Moves that involve the relocation of headquarters often call for stationery printers to print new letterheads, business cards, and other corporate materials.

Alsym Energy develops next-generation high-performance, affordable, lithium-free, and non-flammable batteries for stationary storage, and expects to use this space in Malden to increase capacity for production. This will address increasing demand for samples among customers, and is part of plans to expand its team in the Boston area.

COO of Alsym Energy, Graeme Grant, said this expansion in Malden will provide the company with the space it needs to advance the commercialization of its battery technology. Grant added that this is an important step in providing the world with clean, reliable, safe, and affordable batteries, and added that this cutting-edge space in Malden will enable the company to increase the speed of innovation and get its products to market as soon as possible.

The new headquarters is also close to many transit options, including highways, bike paths, and public transportation.
