A reception recently held at the Lowell branch of the Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union recognized several students from the Wang Middle School for their artistic abilities.
The branch is showcasing its work for the public. During the month of May, on display on the shelves will be the artwork of fourteen students in grades six through eight. There are 160 techniques used in the art, which now enlightens the building.
According to the President and CEO of Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union, Mark Cochran, this is one way to support students in the local area and to display their artistic talents. Both members and visitors have made many positive comments about their work and have been impressed by their abilities, Cochran explained.
Certificates of achievement for their accomplishments and hard work were given to the students at the reception. They also enjoyed cookies and refreshments and were able show off their work to their parents.
An art teacher at the Wang Middle School, Marta Magnus, commented that this type of reception and exhibit gives the students confidence as they get acknowledged for their work, and a reason to do it.
