The newly opened Pawtucket Farm Wildlife Sanctuary will host the Wildlife Tracking Workshop next month for any outdoor enthusiasts interested in learning more about how to track wildlife in the forests.
Pawtucket Farm Wildlife Sanctuary was created in collaboration with Lowell Parks & Conservation Trust, the City of Lowell, Mass Audubon, and Mill City Grows. The land was acquired from the purchase of former Rollie’s Farm to protect it for the benefit of the public. The land has been repurposed to serve as both a wildlife sanctuary and education center with over 20 acres of outdoor trails and farm fields.
The Wildlife Tracking Workshop is just one of many educational classes held at the sanctuary throughout the year. This will be held in conjunction with the Lowell Winter Fest on the same day. Participants will receive hands-on experience on how to identify patterns and tracks left by local animals and learn about the difference between animal movements.
To prepare for the field portion of a class, students may find it helpful to study a physical tutorial or brochure detailing what will be covered. Organizers may seek out local Print shops offering brochure printing and similar services to prepare these materials.
The Wildlife Tracking Workshop is slated for Saturday, February 28 from 9:00 am to 10:30 am. It will be held at 1413 Varnum Avenue, Lowell.
