Lowell art studio to host holiday open house
Lowell holiday shoppers should note that Western Avenue Studios & Lofts will host a holiday open house two Saturdays in a row this December.
Western Avenue Studios & Lofts is an industrial style building of five floors that was once a textile mill complex but is now home to eclectic artist studios and creative loft spaces. Classes and workshops are frequently hosted in the building, and one Saturday a month, the artist studios are opened to the public so that people can peruse artwork and even purchase items. The holiday open house is a festive twist to these ordinary open houses and will encompass the two full Saturdays in December.
Over 350 artists will open their doors for the event, and attendees will get to browse a variety of unique, handcrafted items that would make perfect Christmas gifts. Attendees can sip a hot coffee from the in-house coffee shop and tour the co-op gallery as well. The space is also pet-friendly if dogs are leashed.
Artists participating in open houses with the intention of selling their works may decide to provide a stack of business cards at their booth or space so that they can hand these out to interested passersby.
