This September, the Lowell Kinetic Sculpture Race 2025 will be held in town for the Greater Lowell area to explore creativity and blend the STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics) fields with physical activity and disruptive innovation.
The event is supported by the Greater Lowell Community Foundation and by grants from the Lowell Cultural Council and the Massachusetts Cultural Council. Organizers describe kinetic sculptures as human-powered sculptures made from both new and repurposed materials that can ride over all terrains, including water, sand, mud, and pavement/concrete. The kinetic sculpture race is intended to inspire engineers, artists, performers, and leaders, and highlight the way STEAM components can cause good disruptions in the status quo.
The race will begin with a Meet the Machines session followed by Opening Ceremonies, after which the race will begin, with the Maddening Mud Pit being the first challenge. Attendees will be able to enjoy music, games, and food trucks as the race goes on. There will be a block party and awards ceremony at Warp and Weft.
Unique competitions like this will often benefit from colorful Posters advertising the details of the event. Organizers can seek out local Print shops in their area that specialize in poster printing services like this.
The Lowell Kinetic Sculpture Race is scheduled for September 20 from 10:30 am to 4:00 pm. It will be held at 129 Market Street, Lowell.
