The Nashua Soup Kitchen and Shelter has been named as latest winner of the Give-A-Click campaign by the Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union, which has a full-service branch in Lowell. The We Share A Common Thread Foundation of the Credit Union gave the organization $1,500.
Community Outreach Manager of Nashua Soup Kitchen and Shelter, Carol Weeks, commented that the campaign builds excitement for all involved, while Executive Director Lisa Christie added that it helps to build visibility within the community. The Soup Kitchen and Shelter provides not only food and shelter, but also helps people with educational and employment programs, and transitional and emergency housing so as to get people on the road to self-sufficiency.
The Give-A-Click campaign is held every quarter and members of the community are able to discover worthwhile nonprofit organizations on the Foundation’s site and select the one that impresses them most. The Credit Union may also create Brochures about the several charities that are nominated each quarter as a way to encourage voting within the community. The Foundation donates $1,500 to the charity accumulating the highest number of votes.
President and Chief Executive Officer of Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union, Mark S. Cochran, commented that the Credit Union is excited about declaring Nashua Soup Kitchen and Shelter as the winner in the latest Give-A-Click campaign, as it offers a way to show support for the community.
