Lowell will welcome a much-celebrated music double act this August.
The duo often referred to as being pioneers of “blue-eyed soul” will be in Lowell for one performance. The Righteous Brothers have a string of hits that seems like a soundtrack for the 1960s, including “Just Once in My Life,” and “You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'.” By 1999's end, the latter had been played more than eight million times on American television and radio, making it the 20th Century's most-played tune. Bill Medley also wrote “The Time of My Life” for the film “Dirty Dancing,” and won a Grammy for the effort.
The original Righteous Brothers were Bobby Hatfield and Bill Medley. Hatfield passed away in 2003, but Medley's talent allowed him to keep touring as a single act, performing to packed houses. However, friends and fans missed the sound of the duo, and begged Medley to somehow save the Righteous Brothers. He found the answer in Bucky Heard, who is now the second member of the duo.
Today Medley and Heard bring back the old magic and pack their setlists with classics like “Soul & Inspiration,” “Rock and Roll Heaven,” and “Unchained Melody.”
The Righteous Brothers will be at the Lowell Memorial Auditorium on August 29, from 7:00 pm until 10:00 pm. When events like this are scheduled, poster printing is often used to create attractive advertisements, which fans like to collect.
