Canton estate transformed into holiday lights display

Canton’s Eleanor Cabot Bradley Estate has embraced the holiday season, transforming its historic gardens into a seasonal lights display.

The Estate has placed dozens of light displays on its grounds. These include a tunnel of blue, green, and yellow lights, shining bouquets hanging overhead, and lights in the shape of holiday trees, as well as wrapped around actual trees. This is the fourth year the event, called “Winterlights”, has been put on by the Trustees of Reservation that manages the Bradley Estate. The house dates back to 1902 and is commonly used as a location for weddings in the spring and summer months, in addition to being home to hiking trails and a working farm.

The Trustees are also hosting Winterlights displays at the Naumkeag house in Stockbridge and Stevens-Coolidge House & Gardens in North Andover. As they displays are outdoors, they do not require a mask, although visits must be booked in advance to avoid overcrowding. Holiday lights displays are common around this type of year, often using roadside Signs and banner printing to help draw visitors, but organizers are hoping the historic scenery of the Bradley Estate will help set their display apart.

The Winterlights display at the Eleanor Cabot Bradley Estate officially opened on November 17, and will run Wednesday through Sunday each week until January 9.
