Later this month, the Metro South Chamber of Commerce is hosting an informational event about legal and human resources updates for the new year.
Ask the Experts: HR Law & Compliance Updates for the New Year will include a keynote address and a panel discussion. Participants often exchange Business Cards at this type of event. The keynote speaker will be Senator Michael Rodrigues, the Chair of the Massachusetts Senate Ways and Means Committee. His talk will cover legislative priorities and how those might affect businesses.
The HR panel will feature experts from Murphy Hesse Toomey & Lehane LLP, HR Alternatives and TriNet. They will discuss trends they recommend that managers and HR teams pay attention to, including changes in paid family and medical leave requirements, new pay transparency laws, data privacy concerns, worker classification decisions and the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in hiring and HR. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions, and the panel will focus on practical, real-world situations.
Those planning to attend can register on the Chamber’s website. The fee is $39 for members and $49 for non-members. The Metro South Chamber’s members include professionals and business owners from Canton and other towns in the region.
The event will take place on Friday, January 30, from 11:45 am to 1:30 pm at the Martin Institute at Stonehill College.
