Community cleanup event to return to Canton

Keep Canton Beautiful is hosting its fifth annual Town Wide Cleanup event this spring.

Participants are asked to sign up for a two-hour volunteer slot, followed by a gathering on the high school’s football field. This will include a cookout and entertainment from the Jammin Magic Wizard, who combines DJ services and interactive magic shows, and local Canton DJ Mike Charles.

Most volunteer sites are open to all ages, but a few are restricted to participants 18 and older. Spaces are also available for volunteers 18 and older interested in being site captains. These co-site leaders will be responsible for picking up tools, supporting volunteers and taking collected trash to the high school’s dumpster if needed. Leaders will also have an informal contest for who finds the strangest piece of trash during the cleanup. Local organizations often use flyer printing services to promote this type of community event.

Keep Canton Beautiful is a community project that works on picking up litter, running sustainability initiatives, and taking other actions to make the town greener and more beautiful. The group believes in making visible progress to motivate residents, business owners, and leaders to make ongoing sustainability commitments.

The Canton Town Wide Cleanup event is scheduled for Saturday, April 4 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. It will go on rain or shine.
